1959 Track Team Reunion Dinner

Ron Bole '62 and LeRoy Martin '62 cordially invite the Scots 1959 Track Team to celebrate a 'Triumphant Beginning' in recognition the team's 1959 MIAC Conference Championship. Begin by attending the Macalester/Bolstorff Twilight Track Meet starting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, at Macalester Stadium. The following evening, enjoy a special 1959 Track Reunion Dinner happening 5:30 - 8 p.m. in the Leonard Center Hall of Fame Room. Professor Chris Wells presents Cars, Houses, and Sustainability

What if Americans drive cars more frequently and greater distances than anyone else on the planet not because of some great cultural 'love affair' with the automobile, but because of decisions we have made about how to organize the places we live, shop, and work? In this Alumni College Faculty Lecture, Professor Chris Wells, Environmental Studies, will discuss some of the intersections between his academic research on America's car culture and his involvement in Macalester's new EcoHouse, and reflect broadly on the relationships between cars, houses, and sustainability.
