San Francisco Walking Tour of Pacific Heights
2pm, Starts at the corner of Broadway and Fillmore, San Francisco
Join On The Level guide Marilyn Straka '68 and other Bay Area alumni for a two-hour, one-mile walking tour exploring Pacific Heights, a neighborhood of large pristine homes, Victorian gems, spectacular views and gardens, landmark buildings and inviting parks. Visit a uniquely appointed Bed and Breakfast and one of the oldest churches in San Francisco. Then walk 'downhill' to Union Street for some Macalester social time at one of the local 'drinking holes.' $20 per person. Email questions to Mindy Lechman '05.

Alumni Day at the Wildlife Science Center
2:30pm, Wildlife Science Center, 5463 West Broadway, Forest Lake, Minn.
Celebrate the first day of Spring with something wild! Join alumni, their families* and their dogs to observe wolves up close at the Wildlife Science Center (WSC), a nationally recognized education and research facility located on the grounds of the Carlos Avery Wildlife Management Area in Forest Lake, Minn. The first hour will be an off-leash dog romp, followed by a lecture and discussion on wolf/dog behavior, and then a tour of animal enclosure. $10 per person, ages 4 & up. $2 discount for children if you bring a donation of paper towels or toilet paper. Donating other items from the WSC wish list is welcome. Canines welcome, but it is not necessary to bring a dog to enjoy this event.
*Please make sure that your children stay safe around the dogs. Keep small children near you and do not allow them to run which may cause dogs to chase and nip them.
