LOCATION:Black Box Theatre\, Janet Wallace Fine Arts Center & Gallery DTSTAMP:20120404T113557 DESCRIPTION:Central Touring Theater (CTT) is an elective class at Central High School in St. Paul\, MN\, that tours original work written by students to hundreds of educational venues and performs to over 10\,000 people annually. Their 2012 touring show\, &ldquo\;Wake Up!&rdquo\;\, explores numerous themes\, including the importance of education\, the struggles of Muslim children\, bullying\, growing up without fathers\, facing street violence\, and holding on to yourself in relationships. This production also examines a number of social justice issues such as international sweatshops\, GLBT rights\, and challenging race and gender stereotypes. \n \nBy confronting diffi cult issues involving race\, gender\, and education\, this latest show from CTT inspires audiences to fi ght despair and stay awake\, engaged\, and present in their own lives. CTT has been performing student written plays for audiences for 33 years.
