PHAP is a competitive\, two-year\, paid fellowship for recent liberal arts graduates of any major within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Public Health Associates are assigned to state\, tribal\, and local public health agencies throughout the United States working in all sectors of public health\, includingSTD/HIV\; Tuberculosis\; Chronic Disease\; Environmental Health\; Public Health Preparedness\; Immunization\; Injury Prevention\; and Maternal and Child Health. PHAP provides opportunities for promising future public health professionals to gain broad experience in the day-to-day operation of public health programs.
