Conversations About Our Scholarly Lives

12:00 PM  - 1:00 PM
Monday Feb 5, 2018
suite 309, DeWitt Wallace Library

Andrew Latham, Political Science, will present “Sovereignty and Intellectual History."  This study traces the history of the supposedly modern idea of “sovereignty” back to the long thirteenth century. In so doing it makes the case for a new approach to intellectual history – one that combines a modified version of the contextualism of the Cambridge School with a longue dureé approach to the history of ideas.  All faculty welcome.  Lunch will be provided.
