Lisa Mueller, Political Science, will present "Political Protest in Contemporary Africa."  Sub-Saharan Africa has experienced an historic spike in protest activity during the early twenty-first century.  What explains the timing and scale of this unrest?  Mueller will present the main findings from her forthcoming book, Political Protest in Contemporary Africa.  Her research is based on surveys from thirty-five countries and field research in Niger, Senegal, Burkina Faso, and Malawi.  All faculty are welcome.  Lunch will be provided.
