Tuesday Oct 17, 2017
Harmon Room, DeWitt Wallace Library

The Humanities Faculty Colloquium features a Macalester faculty member presenting their own scholarship to colleagues. We aim to celebrate the contributions of the humanistic disciplines to the liberal arts, to foster a sense of community and shared intellectual enterprise among humanities faculty, and to learn more about each other’s work.

The presenter on October 17 is Beth Severy-Hoven, Professor and Chair of the Classics Department. The title of Beth’s presentation is, “Freed Slaves as Family: Evidence from Household Tombs at the Port of Ancient Rome.”Lunch is generously funded by the Provost’s Office and begins at 11:45; talks start at noon. All faculty and staff are welcome.
