- 1:00 PM
Monday May 22, 2017
Board Room, Weyerhaeuser Hall
Join The Staff Affirmative Action Working Group (SAAWG) at the final SAC Soup Chat of the year to learn more about the current and future work of SAAWG, including an important addition to the staff hiring process that will support the College’s stated priority of increasing staff diversity. The Staff Affirmative Action Working Group was formed in May 2016 as a joint effort between the Office of Title IX & Equity and Employment Services. Intentionally designed to include staff members from diverse backgrounds and departments, SAAWG is committed to upholding Macalester’s commitment to diversity and equity and seeks to facilitate inclusion at Macalester through equitable working, learning, and living environments. SAAWG promotes the benefits of robust diversity as a key strategic initiative component, and strives to bring equity to the forefront of everyday decisions in the workplace by raising awareness about Macalester’s diversity initiatives, facilitating inclusive hiring practices across campus, and educating staff on the benefits of affirmative action policies.
