The Anthropology Department presents a talk by Bill Beeman, Department of Anthropology, University of Minnesota, "Why Anthropology is Valuable for Business Careers Today." Anthropology has been applied in business settings for more than 60 years, but in recent years businesses have been hiring people with anthropological training in increasing numbers. This talk will explain why anthropology is so valuable in business and industry, and how anthropologists can present themselves effectively in seeking a business career. The five basic areas of business anthropology will be explored: marketing and advertising, design, user experience, corporate ethnography and international business. Pizza will be served.
