Acute Care: Performing Emotional Labors
Starts 2:00 PM
Sunday Apr 9, 2017
Main Stage Theater, Theater Building
Explore what it means to: live in a body; need care continuously, sometimes urgently; care for others; surrender to expertise and knowledge; touch; care radically for each other, all beings, the planet. In short, perform emotional labor.
Students at Macalester in the Oral Histories in Performance class have conducted these interviews, and Beth Cleary uses with permission and eagerness by nurses in a variety of specialties and health settings in the Twin Cities. They want to come see a play about the crucial, often invisible work they do.
