Join the Lealtad-Suzuki Center for "Soup & Substance," a Lealtad-Suzuki Center program that bring students, staff, and faculty together to engage in conversations about identity, culture, and community. The theme for this year is "Beyond the Individual: Examining Institutional & Cultural Oppression."

This month we will preview a clip from the Shakti Butler documentary "Mirrors of Privilege: Making Whiteness Visible," and engage in meaningful dialogue about White privilege at Macalester.

"Mirrors of Privilege" helps bridge the gap between good intentions and meaningful change, and it seeks to provide "pathways for learning and analysis that can build real bridges between white people and people of color, who can then begin to create authentic relationships across a racial divide."

Come and join us for soup and conversation! For more information about this and other Lealtad-Suzuki Center programs, visit our website at
