Join FIA*STARSA (Feminists in Action*Students Together Against Rape and Sexual Assault) and members of the B.QullecTivE for Transgender Day of Remembrance.  B.QullecTivE is a community organization working towards multiple modes of empowerment for queer and transgender people of color.

This workshop, led by two B.QullecTivE representatives, will focus on remembering the lives and stories of trans* people of color. It will include a facilitated discussion on trans narratives and the history of the Day of Remembrance, a brief presentation on the ways that we remember and mourn as people of color, followed by an opportunity for creative expression honoring those who have passed in our community.

Please bring a photo, food, or anything you would like to share with people. This workshop is for people looking to hear and discuss openly about the violence that is distorying a community.

Presenters La'Niya Dixon and Tayvon Caples are members of both B.QullecTivE and TYSN (Trans Youth Support Network) and active community organizers around the twin cities. Their experience includes several workshops and trainings on trans and POC inclusiveness in the nonprofit and education sectors.
