Late Night Vinyl

10:30 PM  - 11:30 PM
Wednesday Nov 6, 2013
Hewitt Hall, Room 113, Music Building

Late Night Vinyl returns.  With Director of Instrumental Music, Mark Mandarano.

One classic lp will be played through without interruption, prefaced by a brief talk about the history, the music and the cover art. Then, using a state-of-the-art surround-sound stereo system, the needle goes into the groove and...non-stop music.

To start the Fall 2013 semester: the seminal album by Talking Heads, "Remain In Light." Released in 1980, it was daringly innovative, featuring African polyrhythms, Eno's production and a cover which was enhanced by computers at M.I.T. -- seriously! It includes "Crosseyed and Painless" and "Once In A Lifetime."
