Global Citizenship in the News: Obama's Visit to Israel

12:00 PM  - 1:00 PM
Monday Apr 8, 2013
Davis Court, Markim Hall

On Thursday, March 21st President Obama gave what many have called a historic speech to the people of Israel not only about the nature of the US-Israel relationship, but about the decisions Israelis must make to ensure a just and secure future. He focused heavily on peace with the Palestinians, stating clearly that it is "necessary, just, and possible." What does this speech mean in domestic US politics? How do politics in America affect our policies on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict? Is there domestic political space for Obama to translate his words into meaningful action?
