Classics Colloquium

7:00 PM  - 10:00 PM
Tuesday Dec 4, 2012
Old Main 111

Senior majors in the Department of Classics will be presenting their capstone research on Roman imperialism in north Africa, the Iberian peninsula and Gaul, the evolution of Latin into Spanish and Italian, and the reuse of ancient material to construct modern identities among British Romantic poets, Hasidic Jews and creators of the Chicago Columbian Exposition of 1893.  We’ll also see an online exhibit on the myth of Icarus and a Roman gossip magazine from 43 BCE. All members of the campus community are invited; refreshments will be served.  Take a break from this busy week to celebrate the accomplishments of your colleagues in Classics.
