Hear Professor Devavani Chatterjea speak in Portland

Alumni are invited to hear Macalester Professor Devavani Chatterjea present “Immunology, Global Health and Community” at Portland State University. Professor Chatterjea and several other guest speakers were invited to present as part of the International Studies Program's Fall Term Colloquium: Global Health. Details are also being finalized for a reception to be held following the presentation.

Devavani Chatterjea is an immunologist who studies the development of T cells, stromal cell signaling in the bone marrow and the roles of mast cells in the initiation of inflammatory pain. She is the associate director of Macalester’s Program in Community and Global Health and is particularly interested in the development of curricula and programs that bring public health education into the context of undergraduate liberal learning. Chatterjea teaches Cell Biology as well as courses in immunology and public health.
