PoliTalk: Just Say NO to Anti-Gay Discrimination in the Minnesota Constitution

12:00 PM  - 1:00 PM
Thursday Sep 20, 2012
Harmon Room, DeWitt Wallace Library

Come to this year's first PoliTalk with Political Science Professor Adrienne Christiansen.

Professor Christiansen used to be a reluctant activist on the gay marriage issue but not any more. In this talk, she explains how Macalester alumni prompted her to get involved in the “Vote NO” campaign and why she opposes the upcoming ballot initiative that, if passed, will enshrine anti-gay discrimination in the Minnesota constitution. She also will lead a discussion about the 515 current Minnesota statutes that provide benefits and privileges to married heterosexual couples but not to married gay couples.
