Join Twin Cities alumni to discuss Bridge of Sighs by Richard Russo. Kate Baxter-Kauf '02 will be hosting.

Bridge of Sighs is a moving novel about life in small-town America weaving in threads of a life lived abroad, and how each has shaped the lives of three friends. The novel begins with Louis "Lucy" Charles Lynch as he writes the history of his hometown and of his family. He has lived in the small town of Thomaston, New York, for sixty years, forty of those with his wife Sarah. They are planning a 'vacation of a lifetime' to Italy, which also happens to be where Lucy's oldest friend, a renowned painter and one-time rival for his wife's affection, Bobby lives. Lucy, Sarah, and Bobby's lives have been shaped by their perspectives and life experiences and ultimately they each have their own destinies which prove to be very revealing.
