Saturday Sep 8, 2012
Clovis Ray '99, an inspiring linebacker at Mac, was killed in Afghanistan this spring while leading his U.S. Army infantry platoon in Kunar Province. His life's story was one of amazing resilience, service, and putting others before himself.
Saturday, September 8, will be Clovis Ray Day at Macalester Stadium. The Scots play Concordia (Wis.). There will be a memorial program for Clovis at halftime and a gathering/cookout for football alumni and friends prior to the game. The college will also make a dedication of the stadium flagpole in his honor. Clovis's twin brother Eddie Ray '99, also a standout linebacker for Macalester, will serve as honorary captain for the day.
